Need a Gaming PC on a low budget? No problem, our AMD RX 550 Gaming PC will do the job for you. Pairing the Intel’s 7th generation Pentium G4560 with the AMD Radeon RX 550 delivers decent performance that can handle every game and video-editing applications. Before we assemble the PC, you should check out why AMD Radeon RX 550 is a Perfect Graphics Card at a low budget. So today, we will build a Gaming PC that will cost you just $500 with a monitor and if you already own a monitor, the total cost would be less than $380. Sound great, right? So, let’s get started with our RX 550 Gaming PC Build.
Processor: Intel Pentium G4560
Intel Pentium G4560 Processor is a 7th generation Processor by Intel. Pentium G4560 is Dual-Core CPU with multithreading support. Even though it belongs to the Pentium Series, is will deliver similar Gaming performance as higher end Processors. This is due to the fact that we will pair it with another low-end GPU. Using the 7th generation i3, i5 or the Ryzen R5 CPU will give the same performance when paired with the RX 550. Also, the 4 threads make the processor faster compared to the previous generations.
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon RX 550
We have already discussed a lot about the benchmarks & performance of AMD Radeon RX 550 in our Full Review of AMD RX 550. Make sure that you check it out to a better idea of its performance. Also, it has a very low TDP of just 50W so we won’t have to go for a high-end PSU. But still, we’ll include a decent PSU that can handle more powerful GPUs in case you decide to upgrade in the future.
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2
The Gigabyte GA-H110M-S2 is one of the best motherboards one can get at $50. It was originally meant for the Intel 6th generation Processors but it can also support the 7th generation Kaby Lake Processors after a BIOS upgrade. It will also be a good motherboard in case you decide to upgrade to a better Processor from the Intel Kaby Lake series.
RAM: Corsair 8GB DDR4 Vengeance LPX 2400Mhz
Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR4 RAM is all that you need to run the latest games. Clocked at 2400MHz and with DDR4 Memory Type, the Corsair Vengeance is extremely fast and provides great memory management. I wouldn’t recommend getting 4GB RAM as most of the latest games require at least 8GB RAM to work at optimal settings.
Storage: WD Blue Desktop 1TB Internal Hard Drive
The WD Blue 1TB Internal Hard Drive is a High-Speed Storage Drive with speed of 7200 RPM. To cut off the budget, we will skip an SSD. But for gaming, we cannot go for the cheaper Hard Disks with 5400 RPM either. To get the best transfer speeds on a low budget, a 7200 RPM is all we need and WD Blue is a perfect HDD at just $50. Also, you don’t have to worry as you would hardly observe any performance difference in case you use an SSD. But I would have recommended an SSD if we were using a better CPU & GPU in our build.
Power Supply Unit: Antec VP-450 Power Supply
In my PC Builds, I always recommend the Antec PSUs for their extremely sustainable and long lasting performance. The maximum TDP of this build will be less than 300W and even in case you upgrade to a better GPU or CPU in the future, Antel VP-450 will be decent enough to handle everything.
PC Cabinet/Case: Rosewill Steel/Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
This PC Cabinet supports three 5.25” external drives, two 3.5” external, and five 3.5” internal drives. It has 2x 120mm fans with side air vents to keep everything super cool. Apart from the specifications, it looks great too. Do check out its images and reviews on Amazon: Rosewill Steel/Plastic ATX Mid Tower Computer Case. It is priced at just $40.
Monitor: HP Pavilion 22cwa 21.5-inch IPS LED Backlit Monitor
The HP Pavilion 22cwa is a 21.5 inches IPS/LED Monitor with a Full HD (1920×1080) resolution. The dynamic contrast ratio of this monitor is 8,000,000:1. It is also the top-selling monitor at Amazon. The HP Pavilion 22cwa has 250 nits brightness and a response time of 7ms. It has support for connection via both VGA and HDMI ports. Also, the display is Anti-glare. You can get the HP Pavilion 22cwa at $100.
Keyboard & Mouse: Redragon S101 Vajra USB Gaming Keyboard with Centrophorus USB Gaming Mouse
This Gaming Keyboard and Mouse combo will cost you just $24. It not only looks good but delivers decent performance. The Mouse comes with 2000 DPI which can be switched to 1600 and 1000 DPI as well. The Redragon S101 Gaming Keyboard has a 150cm high-speed USB Cable with 2 input adjusting gears.
|Intel Pentium G4560||$64|
|AMD RX 550 GPU||$79|
|Corsair 8GB RAM||$60|
|WD Blue 1TB||$50|
|Antec VP-450 PSU||$38|
|HP 22cwa Monitor||$100|
So, the total cost of our gaming PC is $508 as per the current prices on Amazon. I’ll recommend you to buy from a trusted seller or store that offers good value for money. If you already own a decent monitor, keyboard & mouse then I wouldn’t recommend upgrading them if you’re on a low budget. This would further decrease the cost and now this setup costs just $384. That sounds pretty cheap for a gaming PC, right? This AMD RX 550 Gaming PC Build should do the job for you.
So today, first we discussed why a Pentium G4560 and AMD RX 560 Gaming PC Build would be ideal for low-budget gaming. We selected components considering that they will not bottleneck the performance of rest of our PC components. This build is good enough to play every PC game at low-medium settings at 1920×1080 (Full HD) resolution and at high settings for 1366×768 (HD) resolution. Well, this is obviously not future proof tech, so we included a good motherboard and PSU that can help you out in case you upgrade the Processor and Graphics Card in the future. The motherboard we have chosen supports all the Intel’s 7th generation Processors while the PSU can handle Graphics Card with a much higher Thermal Design Power (TDP).
In case you plan to upgrade it in future, make sure that you add an SSD as well. Or you can also replace the HDD with an SSD if you like to. That’s it for this PC Build.
